Part 1
As soon as she got the call Miss Blimey knew there would be trouble. It wasn't so much a call as an ESP blast to the left temple, but those who choose to live on the sea can't be choosy about communications. Miss Blimey was beginning to regret having a temporal phone implanted in her head, but she also knew that it was the only way she could keep up with current events whilst on the Raven.
"Betty H.V!" she yelled towards the stern of the ship where Betty hates Veronica was making adjustments to something or other.
"Yes boss?" replied Betty hates Veronica.
"Don't call me that! And come here, we've got trouble," yelled back Miss Blimey.
Betty hates Veronica ran to the helm and stood next to Miss Blimey, who was gazing at the sea around her in a contemplative manner.
"We've got a mission," Miss Blimey stated vaguely. "Blade is in deep stoom and we have to get him out of it."
"Blade?" asked Betty hates Veronica as though trying to remember who he was.
"Yes, Captain James Blade, you remember.... Ner do well, general scoundrel at large?" said Miss Blimey trying to jog Betty H.V's memory into some form of coherence.
"Oh, not really, but a mission is a mission, I'll get the ship ready," replied Betty hates Veronica and jumped down the fine ornate stairs.....
Part 2
The Raven was making easy work of the rolling waves that battered her sides. Miss Blimey stood wind swept at the helm with a determined look of urgency about her. She knew she was heading for a battle, but was full of her usual confidence. There was not a man alive that could match her with a cutlass, probably because she killed anyone who challenged her, but you get that. An old friend was in trouble and Miss Blimey couldn't avoid the feelings that the ESP blast of a call now stirred up. She hadn't run into Blade for a while and was not sure what would happen when they met up again. She brushed a stray strand of hair out of her face and let her thoughts drift towards the last time she had been with Blade. Hesitantly she dwelt on the memory. Blade was just so unpredictable and she never quite knew where she stood with him. Miss Blimey sighed and forced her thoughts to focus on her enemy, the ones holding Blade captive. They were a mangy bunch of evil snitches but Miss Blimey was confident she could take them. How Blade got himself into this mess Miss Blimey was not sure, but she knew deep down that some antic or other had gone awry. It was the standard story. Boy goes somewhere, does something, something turns from nothing into some sort of madness, boy is in trouble. Miss Blimey had seen it all a thousand times. However there was no time for contemplation now as the Raven pulled up alongside the enemy ship, a great hulking ugly mess of stupidity. Why anyone, sane or dead, would build such a monstrosity of modern rubbish escaped Miss Blimey's sensibilities but it had nothing to do with her really so she put it out of her mind and got ready for the battle she knew was coming.....
Part 3
"Oi, show yourselves you scum!" shouted Miss Blimey and swung down from the main sail.
A vicious battle ensued, with many arms and legs involved, a head or two and a great deal of swearing. After 10 minutes not an evil snitch was left standing and Miss Blimey ran towards the stairs of what was now technically a ghost ship. She was headed for the hold below where she knew her cargo awaited. Miss Blimey soon found her quary. Blade was sitting in a scurvy jail cell, looking bored and reading the back of a cornflakes packet.
"About time you showed up," he stated to Miss Blimey without looking up from the packet of crunchy cereal.
"Nice, what do you say for an encore?" countered Miss Blimey as she opened the door and let Blade out. Stepping out of the cell, Blade tilted his head to one side and smiled.
"Good to see you doll," he said, hugging her tightly.
"Is that all I get?" replied Miss Blimey, seriously beginning to wonder why she had let him out to begin with, "Come on," she went on dragging him by the hand as he continued, as though compelled, to look around for more mischief to make. "Lets get back to the Raven and have a drink," she finished as they emerged once again into the sun and wind that accompanied this outdoor setting.
Back on the Raven once again Miss Blimey got Betty hates Veronica to rustle up some Wild Turkey shots and Captain's Table water crackers.
"Cheers you two," saluted Blade, and so he should as he had been rescued in style once again.
The End
